Wing Chun is a well known scientific form of martial arts. Wing Chun is a kung fu system that originates from China, the martial art was later refined in Hong Kong by the late Ip Man.  Due to its effectiveness, this martial art makes for an effective form of self-defence. Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is an ancient form of Chinese exercise and healing technique that involves meditation, controlled breathing and movement exercises. Qi is a concept from traditional Chinese culture that literally means vital energy, information, breath or spirit.wing chun

What is in a Wing Chun Class?

The Wing Chun class follows the Foshan curriculum but has many added aspect from various other teachers I have trained with over the years including the Chu Sau Lei principles, Qigong, Chin Na & Shuai. 

What is in a Qigong Class?

The Qigong class various drills and exercises to demonstrate, practice and cultivate Qi and the effects it has on our everyday lives. Sessions can include movement, meditation and healing aspects of Qigong

What do you need to know?

  • Classes are unisex and we do not have dedicated male or female only classes.
  • We allow children in these classes.
  • An annual membership is required after 4 weeks from starting
  • Classes may include contact in order to perform certain partnered drills.

 

# What to wear

Training attire is general fitness clothing such as a tracksuit, shorts, t-shirt or loose comfortable clothing for Qigong

Footwear is kung fu slippers, Boxing boots or bare feet/socks strictly no outdoor footwear allowed on the mats, no exceptions.

Earings or piercings are not permitted to be worn during training unless covered by clothing tape or plasters.

# Pro tips

Be on time for training. These are group classes which means we train as a group, holding up a class will not be tolerated.

Do not chew gum whilst training.

Do not spit on the mats

Respect and help your training partners

Regular practice means greater improvement. Don't expect to improve as quick as someone if your attendance is poor.
